SlugCard is your UCSC student ID card

Submit your photo for your UCSC SlugCard by the deadline. Your SlugCard is your student ID card!

After you submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) with Admissions, you will receive the link to submit your SlugCard photo; information is sent to your UCSC email. Follow the photo submission requirements carefully to get your photo submission approved.

SlugCard is your passport to all things slug. The SlugCard:

  • is the official UC Santa Cruz photo identification card
  • is active only when students are enrolled and have paid for the quarter
  • is part of the student record
  • identifies the cardholder as a UC Santa Cruz student to all faculty and staff at UCSC, and other UC campuses
  • is your library card
  • is your bus pass for city buses
  • gives you access to physical education and recreation facilities
  • is your dining hall card (if you have a meal plan or Flexi Dollars or Banana Bucks)
  • is your entry access to on-campus housing facilities

A government-issued photo ID (e.g. Driver’s License, Passport, Military ID, etc.) is required to pick up your SlugCard in September during move-in/Fall Welcome Week.

We recommend that you get (or confirm that you have) a government-issued photo ID prior to arriving on campus.
