Congratulations and Welcome to UC Santa Cruz!

UC Santa Cruz offers a variety of summer programs for new students. Some programs are open to all new students, and some are by invitation only. Below you will find a list containing basic program information and the program link.

All new students are expected to complete the online Slug Orientation (click here to see course dates).

This information applies to the entering Fall class. Contact the office offering the program directly with questions. Click program link to learn more about the program and specific dates.

ACE June 22-August 28 STEM students enrolled in the ACE coursework we are supporting. Yes.
Black Academy September 19-24 African/Black/Caribbean Frosh & Transfer students. Case by case basis.
Black Men's Initiative (BMI) Dates no yet available ABC men, Frosh & Transfers. Yes. Except for EOP Summer Bridge and SEMILLA 4 day.
EOP Bridge FYE Virtual dates to be determined, and September 11-24 By invitation only; emails will be sent directly to selected students. If you are interested in participating in any other summer programs, please contact Mario Wash at bridge@ucsc.edu.
EOP STEM Transfer Program September 15-18 By invitation only, emails will be sent directly to selected students. Case by case basis.
Engineering Academy (BSOE) September 14-26 Email sent directly to selected students. Yes.
First Year Edge  July 21-August 29 All newly admitted frosh students. Yes. Contact summeredge@ucsc.edu if interested in multiple programs.
Pathways to College Webinar Series (HSI Regional Family Conference) July 13-24 By invitation only; emails will be sent directly to selected students. Yes
Transfer Edge  July 21-August 29 Newly admitted transfer students. No.
UCSC Summer Session Two 5-week sessions. June 22-July 24 & July 27-August 28 Everyone. All UCSC continuing and new students. Over 350 courses on campus and over 60 completely online. Yes. Contact summer@ucsc.edu with questions.
Veteran Orientation Late August to early September Verterans and dependents. Yes
WAVESS: Working to Achieve Valuable Experiences for Successful Scholars August 10-September 11 Only admitted Renaissance Scholars are eligible: foster youth, prior homelessness, formerly incarcerated, etc. By invitation only. Yes. With some exceptions.
