Congratulations and Welcome to UC Santa Cruz!

UC Santa Cruz offers a variety of summer programs for new students. Some programs are open to all new students, and some are by invitation only. Below is a general list with basic program information.

All new students are required to complete the online Slug Orientation Process (see deadlines here).

This information applies to the entering Fall class. Contact the office offering the program directly with questions. Click the program link to learn more about the individual programs.

EOP Bridge FYE Bridge Academy, September 3-17 By invitation only; emails will be sent directly to selected students. If you are interested in participating in any other summer programs, please contact Mario Wash at bridge@ucsc.edu.
EOP STEM Transfer Program September 7-10 By invitation only, emails will be sent directly to selected students. Case by case basis.
STEM Scholars Jumpstart Program Early September Incoming transfer students who are planning on taking Biol 105 and/or CSE 101 during 2021-2022. Yes
Summer Edge Session 1: June 21 - July 23, Session 2: July 26 - Aug 27, 8-week: June 21 - Aug 13, 10-week: June 21 - Aug 27 All SIR'd First Year or Transfer Students. Yes. Contact summeredge@ucsc.edu with questions.
Veteran Orientation Late August to early September Veterans and dependents. Yes
WAVESS: Working to Achieve Valuable Experiences for Successful Scholars Late August/Early September Only admitted Renaissance Scholars are eligible: foster youth, prior homelessness, formerly incarcerated, etc. By invitation only. Yes. With some exceptions.
