Preparing for Enrollment
Do not delay. As soon as your enrollment appointment opens, you should log in to your MyUCSC portal with your CruzID and Gold password to complete your enrollment.
By the time your enrollment appointment begins, you must have done all of the necessary prep work. This includes confirming your enrollment appointment date and time, looking through the Schedule of Classes, having a list of 4-6 classes you may want (or need) to take in your shopping cart, AND having at least 3 possible backup classes. To add classes to your shopping cart, log into your MyUCSC portal, select the Enrollment tile, and then “Class Search” on the left side menu. Make sure the correct term is selected and change to status from “Open Classes” to “All Classes”. You can select the subject if needed and other info to help refine your search. Once you are ready, click the blue search button at the bottom. Browse through the classes and click on any to read more information about them. If it sounds interesting to you or you know it is a class you need to take, you can add it to your shopping cart by clicking on “Add to Cart” toward the top right.
Classes can fill up very fast and you risk not getting into one or more of your classes if you do not do this prep work ahead of time. When your enrollment appointment time comes all you should be doing is selecting the classes (typically 3) you want to take and enroll in them.

I am a newly admitted first-year
- Your enrollment appointment is valid for ONE day

Appointment will begin at 11:00 a.m. PT on the assigned date
- Appointment will end at 11:59 p.m. PT on the same date

Your enrollment appointment will be between August 11-15
I am a newly admitted transfer student
- Transfer students have 2 days to complete their class enrollment
- Appointment begins at 11:00 a.m. PT on the assigned date
- Appointment ends at 11:59 p.m. PT the following day
- Your enrollment appointment will be between August 18-21
