Your Winter 2025 Orientation To-Do List
Your success is our goal! Follow the to-do list below to complete all of your online Orientation Course requirements. We recommend you complete each Orientation part. You will receive orientation and advising information, important deadline reminders, and other fun and essential session details in your UCSC email that will support your transition. Remember to check your UCSC email regularly!

Join your Orientation Leaders to learn how to use Canvas and navigate the Orientation Course. Canvas is a Learning Management System (LMS) where instructors and students interact, collaborate, teach, learn, and communicate through course sites developed by instructors. |

New UCSC admits must complete the Statement of Legal Residence so we can evaluate your residency for tuition purposes to ensure we assess the correct tuition. If you still need to complete the Statement of Legal Residence, please do so immediately! For information about establishing residency for UC tuition, refer to the UC Residence Policy and Guidelines. |

| How-to Session: Enrollment and Finding Your Classes (optional virtual program) |
Join your Orientation Leaders to learn how you use your MyUCSC portal to enroll in classes and learn about the many resources available to help you find your classes on campus. You will receive an invitation via email; attend one or both. |

Prepare for Class Enrollment |
Contact your advisor by email if you have questions prior to your class enrollment appointment time. We recommend that you communicate with your advisor to plan your winter quarter classes prior to your enrollment appointment. Enroll for winter 2025 classes |
You will be able to start enrolling after November 14. Check your MyUCSC Student Portal to confirm your enrollment appointment date and time (to see what date you will enroll in classes). After November 7, check your MyUCSC Student Portal to confirm your enrollment appointment. To see your assigned date, click on the Enrollment tile, then select Enrollment Dates to view your enrollment appointment. | After November 14 |
