We invite you to attend either of the Veteran Welcome Events. The same content will be covered in each session, so you only need to attend one.

Check out the STARRS Community Space in the Baytree Building, make new friends, eat a cookie, and get free swag. This event is not required, but is an opportunity to get familiar with the resources and spaces dedicated to:

  • Transfer student resources. Come learn about how to connect with our staff, student leaders, transfer student events and community spaces.
  • Resilient Scholars Program (RSP) serves current/former foster youth (Hope Scholars), those who have experienced homelessness and other adverse family experiences, those who are formerly incarcerated or system-impacted (Underground Scholars). 🌈 The Trans & Queer Fall Mixer is UCSC’s annual welcome event for new and returning students. Join us to learn more about the Lionel Cantú Queer Resource Center and to connect with the rainbow community at UCSC and in Santa Cruz. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about resources, make new friends, and enjoy music and drag! Our hope is that you will have the opportunity to interact and socialize with other QTs. ID Card Services

ongratulations on becoming a Banana Slug! Your first student ID card is FREE! If you submitted your photo through CloudCard by September 1, and you received an email stating it was approved, your card will be ready for you:

  • If you are living on campus, your ID card will be waiting for you when you check-in on your move-in day.
  • If you are living off campus, your ID card will be at the ID Card Services Office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store beginning September 19. Check the ID Cards Services website for hours of operation.

If you did not submit a photo by September 1, you can pick up your card on or after October 7 (once you submit your photo and after your photo gets approved) at ID Card Services. If you have yet to submit your photo, please go to the Photo Upload Instructions page then follow the photo submission guidelines.

Please Note: You will need a government-issued photo ID, along with your UCSC Student ID number, to pick up your student ID at ID Card Services.

The Lionel Cantú Queer Resource Center welcomes new incoming First-Year and Transfer students as well as returning students to our annual QTBIPOC Orientation. This yearly event is meant to support students navigating the intersections of race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender by building community and support systems. During the orientation, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and connect with campus resources and services, connect with other students, participate in student-led workshops, and participate in different affinity/identity space. People of Color Sustainability Collective: PoCSC Fall Garden Tour' and 'Slugs in the Sun' After-Party

Join us for a tour of the many gardens and green spaces our UCSC campus holds. Learn about our many beautiful green spaces that many of our slugs work to learn about gardening and agriculture. We will be starting our tour at 11 a.m. at Stevenson Garden and will end at Oakes garden. Our second after party event “Slugs in the Sun” will begin at 1 p.m. at Oakes lower lawn where we will be having our after tour party of food and games.
