Become an Orientation Leader
The Orientation Office hires current UC Santa Cruz students to work as Orientation Leaders (OLs) each year. OLs may work Slug Orientation during the summer, Fall Welcome Week, Winter Orientation, and other programs supported by the Orientation Office.
Become part of a team that helps new UC Santa Cruz students and families learn about campus resources and campus life, provide them with support and information that will help make their transition easier, and be a general resource to them and be someone they can connect with when they have questions or need support. And strengthen your leadership and professional skills!

We review applications on a first-come-first-serve basis. We will follow up with candidates who have completed all requirements of the application! We will be conducting interviews in late January/ early February.
Attendance to all trainings, office work schedules, virtual programming and support, and on-campus programming days is required.
The Orientation Office provides intensive training to prepare you for the high demands of the position, expands your confidence, and prepares you to answer the many, many questions new students and family members have about being a Slug.
All work experience levels are welcome. We will provide you with all of the training you need to excel in this position.
