Winter Quarter Admits
Remember!
You are expected to meet all deadlines, meet your Conditions of Admission, and complete the online Orientation Course via canvas.ucsc.edu. You are expected to make time to learn about the endless resources available to you at UCSC. You will receive a lot of information and are expected to read all information carefully. Ask for assistance, if needed.

What you need to complete prior to December:
- Fully complete the winter Orientation Course via canvas.ucsc.edu
- Review all advising information received and contact your department/major and college advisor prior to enrolling in classes (Zoom/email/phone)
- Follow the Photo Upload Instructions and submission guidelines
- View the Slug Videos – Enrollment and Advising
- Review Schedule of Classes (winter schedule becomes available in October)
- Review, understand, and meet your Conditions of Admission
- Confirm receipt of all official transcripts to Admissions prior to the January 15 deadline (you risk cancellation if Admissions does not receive your official transcripts and test scores by January 15)
- Complete all To-Do Items in your MyUCSC portal
- Claim your CruzID to access your UCSC email
- Review financial aid information via MyUCSC
- Learn how to pay your bill
- UC-required Immunizations
- Become familiar with the Academic and Administrative Calendar
- Review and understand the Principles of Community and the Student Handbook
- Visit the Getting Involved website
- Review What to Expect in College
- Become familiar with STARS (Services for Transfer and Re-Entry Students)
Campus Closure
UCSC offices close for the winter break from December 23-January 2. Reopens January 3, 2025.
We recommend that you complete all communication with advisors, Admissions Office, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, etc. prior to December 1, or as early as possible.
January and after
